Florence Green (Emily Mortimer), looking for a way to live, decides to open a bookstore in a sleepy town off the coast of England. It brings to the residents works of world literature, among others "Lolita" Nabokov and "451 degrees Farenheit" Bradbury, and in some of them provokes indignation, and the local elites even protest - after all, books can be dangerous! A very influential lady (Patricia Clarkson - "Prisoner of the Labyrinth", HBO series "Sharp Items") will do a lot to close this "shop". Florence, however, will be consistent. The more that he gains sympathy and support of the local lover of the novel (Bill Nighy - "Time for love", "Hotel Marigold").

The film was recognized as the Best Adaptation of the Literary Work of 2017, based on Penelope Fitzgerald's bestselling novel "The Bookshop".

Nudny, oj nudny to film.

Film o sile i triumfie zła. O przegranej wartościowych jednostek. I o zasianym ziarnie. Piękne plenery. Gra aktorów przypominała trochę tę z filmu "Pokój z widokiem". Trochę nudny, niestety.
